Today Nikon announces a new 40mm f/2.8 lens designed for use on DX (crop) sensor cameras.  The retail price is listed as $279.95.

Nikon Updates Capture NX2

Today Nikon release an update to its Capture NX2 photo editing software.  The update mainly added support for its new cameras, but does include a few bug fixes and updates.

Nikon 50mm F/1.8 rumored to be discontinued

Several websites are reporting that the long loved and very inexpensive Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens is no longer appearing on the Nikon website.

If this is true, now would be the time to grab one of these before they go missing forever, at least as a new item.
