Today Nikon announces a new 40mm f/2.8 lens designed for use on DX (crop) sensor cameras. The retail price is listed as $279.95.
Several websites are reporting that the long loved and very inexpensive Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens is no longer appearing on the Nikon website.
If this is true, now would be the time to grab one of these before they go missing forever, at least as a new item.

Today, Nikon Europe is reporting an update to the ViewNX 2 software. The site only shows an update for the Windows version, but the Mac version should appear soon.

Lightroom 3.4 and Camera Raw 6.4 are now available as Release Candidates on Adobe Labs. The ‘release candidate’ label indicates that this update is well tested but would benefit from additional community testing before it is distributed automatically to all of our customers. The final releases of Lightroom 3.4 and Camera Raw 6.4 may have additional corrections or camera support.
